Summary: The company manufactures 9-pin connectors for computer cables. They want to make sure that the mold is good and not contaminated or plugged with debris. This was a fairly straightforward application. A Series 700, 9mm lens and a fluorescent ring light were used. The parts are fixtured so no translation lines were necessary for the test but were recommended for actual implementation. Two EdgeCount tools were set up. One tool looked at the top row and the other at the bottom row. The threshold line was adjusted to get a good differentiation between the gray connector and the black holes. The top tool was expected to find only 10 edges and the bottom tool only 8 edges.

Here, no contamination is present so the correct number of edges are counted.
