THE OBSERVATION OF THE ENVIROMENT SECURITY OVER THE INTERNET AND LOCAL NETWORKS

CUSTOMERS :

Project 1. Odes Fire Safety Systems and Siemens Business Services

Project 2. ODES Fire Safety Sytems and Tubitak Yital laboratory.

GOAL:

1. Observation over Internet for ODES company's security system for all server rooms of a big internet service provider in Turkey and observation of fire, flood securiy and the condition of uninterrupted power sources from the headquarters.

2. Observation of the fire safety of the Tübitak Yital Chip Production Laboratories over the local Networks.

DESING AND TECHNOLOGY:

In this design National Instrument's 24 Channel Input/Output card is used as the hardware.

Project's software was developed using National Instruments Labview 6i software development platform and it's Internet Toolkit. The developed software has the ability to be a web server.
SOLUTION:

1. A PC based system was designed to observe the security of the Laboratories and the ISS rooms , which were wanted to be working humanless. The developed system simply was formed of hardware and software components. The digital Input/Output card acquires the determined alarm signals and transmits them to the computer.Incase of an alarm situation the attention signals are given over this card.

The software can be analysed with two parts according to their functionality.

1. The signals acquired by the data acquisition card are analysed. The security conditions are displayed on the screen and recorded. The starting time and finishing time are displayed on the screen so it can be decided whether the condition is temporary or permament.

2. It is possible to access the software by using IE, Netscape or any Internet browers and entering the computer's IP number, like opening a web page. To do this, a web page feature was added to the software. To make the observation of the security of the rooms located all around Turkey, the main software on the main computer is controlling all of the IP numbers continiously. In a case of alert the window for that room is activated and the source of the alarm is shown.

The software's visual feature were the priority. It was aimed to enable the user to reach all of the data from a simple interface. The operator at the headquarters was informed about what to do in different alarm conditions with a detailed help file. The help file was design as a Html page.

RESULT:

The project of the observation of the YITAL laboratories over the local network used similar technology. The most important feature of the project is to use the Internet and PC Based automation technologies combined together.

A PC and Internet based automation solution was developed for a significant matter like observation fire security for the first time in Turkey.

This system can be applied to similar organizations to observe the production processes, productivity, failures over the internet or local networks.
